FAQ Sample B: How do I get directly from the train station to the airport?
Prague has 5 train stations. This FAQ assumes you are arriving at the main station called "Hlavní nádrazí" or "main stain." (Official name: Wilson Station.) Method A: Public BusAirport Express Bus:At last, an express bus directly to and from Ruzyně airport! This is by far the best option. The official public transport site gives all the details about fares, timetable, and stops. Luggage can be taken aboard free. Note that on this bus, unlike on other Prague public transport, you can purchase seats directly from the driver. Information about the express bus is posted in Czech and English on the train station departures board. Estimated travel time is roughly 40 minutes, but allow for traffic.
Metro to Public Bus Method B: TaxiThis is efficient but not very economical. It will not be at all economical if you get a taxi that charges illegally high rates. See our extensive information and tips on taxis as well as the airport and public transit on the same survival page. There are taxis at the train station. Just follow the signs as you come down the corridor from the trains.Method C: Tram to Cedaz vanThe Cedaz vans are an economical and efficient way to get to the airport. A tram (either 5 or 26) from just outside the train station can take you to Masarykovo nádrazí. (You could also take the Metro to Náměstí Republiky and exit on the Masarykovo nádrazí end of that station.) Then walk a half block to the Cedaz stand on "V Celnici" street across from the Marriott Hotel. See their schedules and prices and click on their map. See details in FAQA for getting transit tickets, finding the tram, and reading the schedules. For the Cdaz van you pay the driver the set fee. Have a good trip! |
